ALL-INCLUSIVE PRIVATE ISLAND IN THE GRENADINES IS WINNER OF 2006 FODOR’S CHOICE AWARD

Palm Island is called the “World’s Leading Private Island” at the World Travel Awards, the Caribbean’s “most romantic resorts” by Caribbean Travel & Life and “one of the best places to stay in the world” by Travel & Leisure magazine. This 135-acre island in The Grenadines may be tiny, but it has a huge reputation. The island’s untouched natural beauty with five white sand beaches is a key reason, but the exquisite island-style accommodations, superb cuisine and impeccable service also contribute to Palm Island’s award-winning ambiance. This is a seasonal adults only (16+yrs) resort.

When it really, truly has to be special, Palm Island does not disappoint. The palm-studded resort is the site of many a luxury wedding and dream honeymoon. The calm turquoise waters are perfect for swimming and all water sports. The wide, white sand beaches are spectacular – and there are five to choose from. Panoramic nature trails invite guests for quiet walks past charming stone cottages to observe iguanas, birdlife and a turtle sanctuary. An air of delicious intimacy rules over the entire island. Hammocks sway gently in the breeze. Island-fresh gourmet cuisine is served in the resort’s two restaurants, both offering glorious sea views. There’s a freshwater pool with waterfall, tennis courts and a full-service spa with gym – even a five-hole golf course. The surrounding seas are a yachtsman’s paradise, and the resort has two charter vessels. Guests can arrange everything from snorkeling in the Tobago Cays to a sail aboard the actual schooner featured in Pirates of the Caribbean. Not only do guests enjoy a totally pampered experience, they also get a true “sense of place.”
